Spring Framework 3.1 is finally here and I can't wait to upgrade. There are quite a few nice additions but one feature that I find really interesting is Bean Definition Profiles which will allow me to stop shuffling configuration files using Maven build profiles.

It's always very interesting for me to read how different companies operate and what technologies they use. Here's a nice article from the engineers at Instagram about their infrastructure. They use Route 53 for their DNS, elastic load balancing and lots of EC2 instances for their application and database servers. And they managed to scale to over 14 million users in a year having just 3 engineers.

Nothing can stop me now from moving all of my domains to the cloud.

There are still quite a few things to do here, but I needed to start somewhere. Otherwise it would take forever to start blogging again... :)
